Tumblr deleted my reply. Why. WHY. All right, here’s what I originally said, typed out again:
Yes. From what I know of romantic relationships, society’s idea of “One Tru Luv” often doesn’t play out in real life. Although you may have thought at the time of being in the relationship that your ex-partner was your One Tru Luv, it’s highly uncommon to persist in this belief a long time after you broke up. (Er, I say this without the knowledge of how long it was since you were partners.) Anyway, my point is that I don’t think this is a sign of you being “SUPER romantic”.
In any case, you’re the only person who can decide whether you feel like you belong on the aro spectrum or not. I will say that as a greyromantic person myself, I think you could definitely be greyromantic from what you’ve told me, but don’t take my word for it. If you feel that you’re greyromantic, then go for it, and don’t worry about it being “a phase”. Once you start worrying about that you will never stop, and it’s irrelevant to what you feel *right now*, at *this* point in your life. Just because it might change later doesn’t mean it’s invalid right now.
One last note: It may be worth reflecting on your relationship with your ex-partner and making sure that it wasn’t an intense platonic love, as this would simply make you aromantic, not grey-romantic.
could’ve written this anon myself, holy crap lol this has been so helpful
using my brand new food processor for the first time to grind up oats into a powder…why? because poor Douggie has been scratching to buggery and his sore puppy skin needs soothing 😔 oats are awesome for this kinda thing, apparently #lovethypets
